Data policy- Configuring Industry Taxonomy Policy in fullcast.io

The Industry Taxonomy policy is used to populate your accounts with the correct industry data. Using this policy, you can automate the mapping of the account industry fields to the Industry Taxonomy created in the Design Module.

Policy Execution

For any policy to be executed, the following two steps are necessary.

  1. Configuring Process Builder in Salesforce Environment.
  2. Configuring the policy in Fullcast Environment.

Note: Before you can use the industry taxonomy feature, you need to make sure your accounts have NAICS/SIC codes. Typically, a third-party service does this by assigning an industry code to each account using their database.

To add an Industry Taxonomy policy:

  1. Access your Fullcast instance and switch plans if applicable.
  2. Click Manage Policies by Territory.
  3. Click the Add New Policy button.
  4. Click Add Policy on the Industry Taxonomy tile.

Configuring the Industry Taxonomy Policy

Stage 1 - Configure Fields

  1. Click the relevant object from the Stamp Industry Taxonomy dropdown menu.
  2. Select the object on which you wish to apply the Industry Taxonomy stamp.
  3. From the Field Name dropdown menu, select the appropriate field and specify whether to use SIC or NAICS industry codes. Repeat this step for each added field.
  4. If you want to stamp industry values onto specific fields, click the grey plus icon next to “Additionally stamp industry values…”
  5. Enter any additional fields under Field Name that you want to include for your account. Match each Field Name with a corresponding Taxonomy Value. For example, select Sector, Super Sector, or Industry.

Stage 2 - Define the Taxonomy

  1. Click Manage Taxonomy.
  2. Set up your industry taxonomy according to your business model or go-to-market strategy, and commit your changes when finished. This step is essential for the policy to work.
  3. Once you are finished, go back to the industry taxonomy policy and click Save Changes to create your policy.
